My Experience on Being a Reviewer

Over the past couple of weeks I feel my ability to be a reviewer has improved. Starting out I knew barely anything in this field except for the basics. As those few days progressed I learned a majority of tips on how to write a review that I can be proud of.

In my first review I had a good amount of information to add which supported my topic. Over this time I learned that having the right supporting details really improves the review and grabs the right attention for the viewers. I find I have gained more strength while feeling confident about putting my “pitch” out for others to hear and give their personal feedback on. Not only do I find feedback important, it also gives me a new area to know where I can progress and do better in my writing. In this review I talked about the different Halloween costumes that are currently being used and how they could possibly change over the years. Not only was this topic fun to write about but it taught me more and made me realize how the costumes can slightly change as the years go by. I learned how to have the correct format when writing a review which makes it look more visually appealing. I consider these small tips to help me improve more and more with each review I write.

Technology wise I learned how to use Google docs which will stick with me for the future as well as help me improve on how I write my reviews to share with my editor and get feedback on. Collaborating with my editor really gave me a good look at how I could change my review so that next time I can realize what to correct on my own writing.

Looking back at these few weeks I really realized what I learned being in this role and how these tips can positively benefit me. If I could change my writing in some ways I would look over my work and not rush to get it done. This way I can re-read and look over my own mistakes so the editor can spend more time improving the main parts and not so much on the small ones.

In conclusion, being a reviewer takes a lot of time and patience and I learn more about this role and many other topics that are new to me everyday.  I know there is always room for imrovement and I am proud to be a reviewer getting to learn new things as each day goes by.
